Dr. Roland Vantramp was born into a family of dairy farmers in Nebraska and is the second oldest of 15 children.

After graduating high school, he attended the University of South Dakota where he met and married his wife "Charlie," a dental hygiene student.

After a brief honeymoon in Germany and Austria, it was back to school and work. Dr. Vantramp was able to complete his Bachelor of Science degree by attending classes in the early morning hours and working late into the night doing construction in the housing industry. The greatest joy, however, of those undergraduate years was the birth of his two daughters.

Dr. Vantramp was going through the Army ROTC parachute jump training program at Fort Benning, Ga., when he learned of his acceptance into the Dental School Program at Oral Roberts University. Soon after, he moved his young family to Tulsa, Oklahoma. With the love and support of his hard working wife, Charlie, he graduated from the Michael Cardone, Senior School of Dentistry in 1982. During the graduation ceremony, Dr. Vantramp was recognized by the Oklahoma Academy of General Dentistry as the senior student who demonstrated the greatest promise of becoming an outstanding general dentist.

During his General Practice Residency at Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana, Dr. Vantramp gained additional training in oral surgery, periodontal, endodontic, prosthetic and restorative dentistry. In 1983, he was transferred by the military to McChord Air Force Base in Tacoma, Washington where he served until 1986.

It was on August 25, 1987, that Dr. Vantramp and his wife Charlie, a career hygienist, founded Dove Family Dentistry in Federal Way. Twenty years later, Dr. Vantramp opened a second office in his hometown of Puyallup, Washington where he now practices exclusively.

Charlie attended the University of South Dakota where she earned her B.S. in Dental Hygiene. She was a clinical hygienist for almost 20 years and during that time had the privilege of serving as a clinical instructor for 2 years at Pierce College's School of Dental Hygiene (formerly Fort Steilacoom). Charlie left Pierce College to help her husband establish Dove Family Dentistry in 1987. In 1991 she retired from hygiene and stepped into the role of Human Resources for Dove Family Dentistry. In her spare time she enjoys reading, traveling and volunteering with the Miss America/Washington Organization.

Kris entered into the dental field in 1973, when she began as a chair-side assistant. Nine years later she made the move to administration, where she's been working as a scheduling coordinator ever since! Kris has lived in Graham with her husband Mark for 21 years and has 2 grown children. Kris enjoys entertaining friends and has a self-proclaimed shoe addiction! She says her husband Mark has enough hobbies for the both of them, and she takes part in all she can. You'll hear Kris' cheerful voice calling to schedule recare appointments and she is the first face you will see when you enter our office! Kris brings a lot of wonderful energy to our office, and we have to admit it's contagious!

Jana is our Treatment Coordinator and is well versed in insurance issues to better assist with your financial need. She can help answer your financial questions and determine the best possible use of your insurance benefits. Jana has been working in dentistry since 1997 and has been part of Dove Family Dentistry since 2000. In her spare time she loves to scrapbook, hike and spend quality time with her family and friends.

Teri has been one of Dr. Vantramp's hygienist since 2002. She has been in dentistry since 1982, receiving her dental hygiene degree from Pierce College, formerly known as Ft. Steilacoom Community College. Teri was born and raised in Puyallup and now lives in Federal Way. She considers her husband Gary, daughter Megan and son Connor to be one of God's greatest blessings in her life!

Laura started at Dove Family Dentistry in 2007 as our Federal Way Clinical Coordinator. After graduating from UW with her bachelor's degree in Spanish, Laura completed the Dental Hygiene program at Pierce College, where she graduated as one of the top in her class! She rejoined us in August of 2009 as our newest hygienist. In her spare time, she enjoys the outdoors, cooking and spending time with her son Anthony. In the future, Laura would love to participate in dental mission trips to Mexico.

Tori is Dr. Vantramp's Clinical Coordinator as well as his youngest daughter. She graduated from Pacific Lutheran University with her BFA, with an emphasis in graphic design. Following her graduation in 2000 she took a "summer job," at Dove Family Dentistry and has been there ever since! Tori has one son, who is the joy of her life. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, traveling and seeing Broadway plays/operas.

Brandi was born and raised in Tacoma. She earned her Associate’s Degree in Dental Assisting at Clover Park Technical College in 2007, and has been working as a dental assistant ever since. Brandi joined our team in the summer of 2010. We love the energy and humor that Brandi brings to work with her each day! She prides herself in making each patient comfortable and at home. When not at work, Brandi spends most of her time with her daughter Kiera (her greatest joy) as well as family and friends. She enjoys the outdoors, barbeques and going to the lake.
